Awakening can be described as a breaking down of the ego when you realise that your ‘self’ is nothing more than an illusion, that who you are is not identified by your name, your profession, your gender or sexual orientation. These are only abstract ideas. The death of your ego is when you come to this deep understanding. This breaking down of the ego can come as a daunting revelation.
