Greed, 2013
Mixed-media on wood
70 x 70cm

In portraying the sin of Greed, I opted for a hyena over my initial choice of a frog, seeking a more visually compelling representation. Hyenas, with their cunning nature, proved fitting for the role. The upper right corner features Shakespeare’s words, ‘Vaulting ambition, which overleaps itself, and falls on the other.’ On the upper left, amidst what seem like red balloons, orchids symbolize both greed and opulence, completing the narrative of insatiable desire.
